Mary
and Chad Parker are the new managers at Parrot
Bay Village. They are taking over for Katie and Darren
McClave, who managed Parrot Bay for the past seven years.
Mary is Katie’s younger sister
and the two girls have developed an excellent working
relationship over the years and still work together
on a daily basis to make sure your stay at Parrot Bay
Village is a pleasant one.
Like Katie and Darren, Mary and Chad
also grew up on the Jersey Shore.Chad worked as a heavy
equipment operator for his fathers company since he
was a teen and traveled throughout the United States
and down to Bermuda working on U.S. military based jobs.
Chad then became a professional firefighter/EMT for
the City of Asbury Park, New Jersey for eight years.
He has been fishing and spearfishing the inshore and
offshore waters from Maine to Florida since he was a
child and earned his U.S.C.G. 100 ton captains
license in 2006. Mary graduated from Georgian
Court College with a degree in psychology before becoming
a Realtor in the family business, Twin Realtors of Avon,
New Jersey, currently Ward Wight Sotheby’s International
Realty. It was working alongside Mary’s mother
& her mother’s identical twin sister Elise
& Grandmother that Mary acquired her knowledge in
the daily operations of running a business.
With Chad’s love of the water and Mary’s
desire to be closer to her sister, the pair had been
looking for and opportunity to start a new life in Costa
Rica. And in 2007 opportunity knocked. Katie and Darren
moved on to another venture and invited the Parkers
to come down to Puerto Jimenez and operate Parrot Bay
Village.
Today, Chad is the Director of Fishing
Operations and Mary is in charge of day to day operations
of the hotel. They live together with their two labrador
retrievers, Hot Dog and Petey, next door to the hotel
and will make sure that your stay on the Osa Peninsula
will be a pleasant one.
